Stegosaurus stenops
“Roof Lizard”
Stegosaurus, meaning 'roof lizard', is instantly recognizable by the row of large, diamond-shaped plates along its back and the four sharp spikes on its tail (called a thagomizer). Scientists debate whether the plates were for defense, temperature regulation, or display. Its brain was famously small - about the size of a walnut.
